The Roving Grizzly Award rotates annually between departments across campus, with the current recipients selecting the new team to receive the award. Last year’s recipients, UM’s Vehicle Repair Center, chose the Facilities Services Electric Shop as the Roving Grizzly honorees for this year.
In their own words, “Our reasons for choosing the Electric Shop to be the next Roving Griz recipient are many, but in the end, they are the ones who are responsible for keeping the lights on and making sure all the buildings have power and have a working fire alarm system. Without electricity in the workplace we pretty much come to a grinding halt. When an outlet doesn’t work, a piece of electrical equipment quits working, or the lights go out, we give them a call and they get us back up and running with a smile. Most people take for granted that the lights will be on when they show up to work, but little do they know an electrician may have been called in the middle of the night to come in and repair an electrical problem before classrooms open and staff show up to work. This is one of those behind-the-scene jobs that are important for our daily success and needs recognition.”

Campus Dining is excited to introduce at The Lodge Dining Center on May 27 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. As a special thank you to faculty, staff and students for their support during our transition from the Food Zoo, we are offering a $2 lunch to those with an active Griz Card. You may pay with Bear Bucks, Debit/ Credit or cash.
But wait, there's more! We are also rolling out discounted summer lunch pricing to make dining on campus more affordable. From May 28-Aug. 15, Griz Card holders can lunch at The Lodge for $9 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Community members are welcome to join at the standard rate of $14.
